The final race of the 2025 Formula One season happened this morning in Abu Dhabi. The race determined the 2025 World Champion, with two drivers in a perfect spot for the title, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. Oscar Pisatri, who has had a fantastic 2025 season, also has a slight chance, but the odds of winning the title were slim for Pisatri.

For the last 4 years, Max Verstappen has been the F1 World Champion. Verstappen has been dominating the track since 2021 and has made it hard for any driver to close the gap. In recent years, McLaren has made a remarkable comeback, especially in 2024, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri as drivers. In 2024, McLaren won the constructors' championship, the first time since 1998. McLaren also earned that title this year, making it their second year in a row with the constructors' title.
Along with the constructors' championship, McLaren driver Lando Norris earned the World Championship title after finishing third at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, finishing the season with 423 points. Even though Max Verstappen won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was not enough to beat Lando. Verstappen finished second in the 2025 standings with 421 points, and Oscar Piastri, McLaren's second driver, finished third with 410 points.

These three drivers were the top drivers this season. They brought a lot of unpredictability to every grand prix weekend, compared to other seasons, when only one driver or team dominated the track.
Lando Norris's victory is well deserved and has been a long time coming. Lando first joined McLaren in 2017, and the first few seasons were rocky as Lando struggled to stand out on the track; however, he's been a force to be reckoned with ever since 2024.
In the end, this victory in Formula One has opened a new chapter in the sport. Lando Norris has become the first driver to end Max Verstappen's dominance and has been the first British driver to win since Lewis Hamilton in 2020.
